REL 2630 - Asian ReligionsIntroduces students to the major religious traditions that originated in India and East Asia: Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Confucianism, Daoism, and indigenous traditions. The focus on the course is on patterns of religious understanding and expression that are found throughout the region, including non-theistic and theistic forms, meditation, perceptions of the self and the divine, shamanism, asceticism, and religion and the state. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 2: Exploration and Discovery – World Language and Culture Category. Credits: 3 hours |
