PHIL 3200 - Introduction to Formal Logic A study of formal deductive systems with a special emphasis on the first-order predicate calculus. Arguments expressed in everyday language are analyzed and translated into symbolic logic both to make meanings precise and explicit and to check the validity of arguments.
