ES 3950 - School and Society


This course focuses on major issues affecting the advancement of American eduction in a culturally diverse, democratic society. Course content includes inquiry as to how social, historical, political, philosophical, economic, and legal factors influence educational policy and practice. Connections between school and issues of race, class, gender, and the environment are explored. An interdisciplinary approach is used.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: Minimum of 70 earned semester credit hours.

Credits: 3 hours

Notes: This course is approved as a writing-intensive course which may fulfill the baccalaureate-level writing requirement of the student’s curriculum.
