STAT 2600 - Statistics Using R

Students will obtain a solid introduction to R as a functional programming language and will be ale to use R to effectively compute statistical and graphical procedures. Topics covered: descriptive statistics and plots, discrete and continuous probability models including the binomial, Poisson, normal, gamma and Weibull distribution. Monte Carlo simulations, basic one and two-sample location problems using traditional and robust statistical procedures, regression (simple and multiple) and one and two-way ANOVA designs using traditional and robust statistical procedures.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: MATH 1100 with a grade of “C” or better.

Credits: 4 hours

Notes: This course satisfies General Education Proficiency 4: Mathematics or Quantitative Reasoning.
