PHYS 4660 - Advanced Laboratory The objectives of this course are to provide the student with experience in the use of laboratory equipment and with an understanding of several important physical phenomena. The student will perform experiments in these three areas: atomic, solid state, and nuclear physics. A portion of the semester may be devoted to studying a problem in depth. The course consists of two three-hour laboratory periods each week. This course requires the student to complete several assignments which will demonstrate skills in technical writing.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: PHYS 3420 and PHYS 4600 (PHYS 4600 may be taken concurrently). A grade of “C” or better is required to satisfy any course prerequisite.
Credits: 3 hours
