SPAN 5580 - Modern Language Instruction II This course further educates prospective teachers about the principles and practices of modern language instruction. Students engage in hands-on practice in various realms such as lesson planning, materials development, the delivery of lessons and comprehensible Spanish input in the classroom, and testing. Students must complete this course and achieve a minimum score of Advanced Low on the OPI exam prior to their directed-teaching internship.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: SPAN 3160, SPAN 3170 and two of the following: SPAN 3210, SPAN 3220, SPAN 3230, SPAN 3240, SPAN 3250, or instructor approval. Additionally, one semester abroad in a Spanish-speaking country or a minimum score of Advanced Low on the OPI exam, and SPAN 5570 (which may be taken concurrently).
Credits: 3 hours
