SPED 5330 - Introduction to Assessment and Data-Based Decision Making in Special Education This course introduces students to assessment within a multi-tiered system of support emphasizing progress monitoring and data-based decision making for screening, classification, instructional planning, and evaluation. Topics will include principles of measurement, informal and formal assessment procedures, use and limitations of assessments, legal and ethical issues in assessments, and using technology to conduct assessments. Program requires a grade of “C” or better.
Credits: 3 hours
