SPED 6150 - Transition-Focused Education and Services for Individuals with Disabilities This course examines issues regarding effective transition education and services for youths with disabilities. The focal point of course content is on designing and implementing research-based practices that meet federal and state mandates regarding transition services. Instruction emphasizes active learning strategies that facilitate the application of course content to each student’s professional context. Course topics include applying a transition perspective of education, student-focused planning, student development, interagency collaboration, and family involvement.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: Department approval.
Credits: 3 hours
