BLS 5930 - Methods of Teaching Adaptive Communications Adaptive communication methods and access technologies used by people who are visually impaired are presented in this course. Specifically, braille, handwriting, digital devices, and keyboarding are presented. Use of mobile apps, resources, social media and use of crowd-sourcing by individuals who have visual impairments are also explored. This course includes supervised practical teaching experience with a person who is visually impaired.
Credits: 3 hours
