PHIL 3710 - History and Philosophy of Science I A philosophical and historical study of the growth of science from the Greeks to the Scientific Revolution. The course explores the development of science through primary source readings, with a particular focus on astronomy and dynamics, culminating with a close reading of Galileo’s Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems and a study of the trial of Galileo.
