PHIL 1100 - Inquiry, Argument, and Debate An introduction to the speaking and listening skills important for university inquiry and learning. Focal points include the structure of sound arguments, well-reasoned and compelling speech, and the importance of persuasive presentations. Students will study and discuss classical texts about oratory and explore how modern digital resources can enhance research and contribute to persuasive presentations in all fields of study. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 1: Foundations – Oral and Digital Communication Category.
