This program is designed to prepare students for entry-level positions in fields of public history such as museum and archival administration, preservation/restoration work, interpretation, consulting, and applied research.

1. Required Courses (6 hours)
2. Four courses chosen from the following: (12 hours)
3. Approved electives from other departments (18 hours)
(check with advisor) 4. One course from the following: (3 hours)
5. North American History, 3 courses, including 2 at the 4000/5000-level (9 hours)
6. History electives (12 hours)
Baccalaureate Writing Requirement
Students who have chosen the History major will satisfy the Baccalaureate Writing Requirement by successfully completing: Note:
Minimum total of 66 hours in the major is required. The Public History major does not require a minor. History majors in the Public History major also must complete a foreign language through the 1010 level by course work or examination. Courses By Topic - History
