Special Physical Education

Our Mission: To train qualified professionals who provide physical education service to individual with disabilities in public schools and other related placements. The program is now being offered as a hybrid online degree.

Coursework required for Master of Arts in Physical Education with an emphasis on Special (Adapted) Physical Education.

Emphasis (18 credit hours)


Capstone (6 or 9 credit hours)


  • HPER 7120 Professional Field Experience Credits: 2 to 12 hours. (3 credit hours needed).
  • HPER 7100 Independent Research Credits: 2 to 6 hours. (3 credit hours needed).

OR

  • HPER 7000 Thesis Credits: 1 to 6 hours. (6 credit hours needed). 3 elective hours only if taking HPER 7000.
