PADM 3500 - Public Management for Democracy


This course provides an introduction to the discipline of public management including the historical development of public administration, the relationship between politics and administration, conflicting public values, defining the public interest and the appropriate level of administrative discretion. The course also addresses matter of professionalism, the ASPA Code of Ethics, career planning for public service, and major sources of information for research. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 3: Connections – Local and National Perspectives Category. This course also meets the Diversity and Inclusion student learning outcome.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: PADM 2000 with a grade of "C" or better.
