STAT 5450 - Introduction to Bayesian Data Analysis


This course will provide an introduction to Bayesian concepts and methods with an emphasis on the data analysis. Topics include basic concepts of Bayesian approach comparing with frequentist approach, prior distributions, summarizing posterior distributions, Bayesian computing methods and the assessment of prior distributions. Throughout the course, probability regression models in Bayesian settings will be illustrated on real-world data.

Note: Students need to have laptop. Open to upper-level undergraduate and graduate students.

Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: STAT 5680 with a grade of "C" or better or instructor approval
