PADM 5890 - Strategic Planning and Performance MeasurementStrategic planning is an essential management function intended to shape and guide public and nonprofit organizations by delineating priorities, goals and objectives, intended beneficiaries, resource demands, activities, and intended outcomes, as well as monitoring mechanisms that enable and facilitate successful implementation of the strategic plan. This course covers the essential steps in formulating strategic plans for public or nonprofit organizations within their broader political and financial environment. The course also emphasizes the development of performance measurement systems to support effective implementation of the strategy. Students will learn about needs assessments, program planning and design, the development of logic models, and performance measurement. Note: Open to upper-level undergraduate and graduate students. |
