LANG 5580 - Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Instruction (in French, German, Spanish, or other language) Required of modern language teaching majors and minors. There will be a dual focus: a theoretical focus on second language acquisition and the ways by which non-native speakers come to acquire a foreign language; and a practical focus on methods of teaching in a proficiency-oriented program, as well as on the teaching and learning of culture and the pedagogical use of technologies. Students must complete this course before completing directed teaching.
Credits: 3 hrs.
Notes: Open to Upperclass and Graduate Students. Minimum of four courses including a language at the 3160 and 3170 level, or equivalent, or permission of instructor.
