PHYS 5640 - Nuclear and Particle Physics This course covers such topics as properties of nuclei, collision theory, nuclear reactions, nuclear models, fundamental interactions, and classification techniques used in particle physics. Discussions of experimental methods as well as theoretical treatments using quantum mechanics are included.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: PHYS 4600 or consent of instructor.
Credits: 3 hrs.
Notes: Open to Upperclass and Graduate Students. The department’s 5000-level courses are offered only to advanced physics majors who have successfully completed all Prerequisite studies.
