STAT 5600 - Applied Probability

A first course in probability for upper division and graduate students interested in applications. Topics will include: probability spaces, expectation, moment generating functions, central limit theorem, special discrete and continuous distributions. Applications will include reliability and production problems, and Markov chain methods. Not recommended for students who have taken STAT 3620 or 6600.

Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: MATH 2720.

Credits: 3 hrs.

Notes: Open to Upperclass and Graduate Students. Undergraduates with junior or senior standing and 12 or more credit hours of work in mathematics and statistics may enroll in 5000-level courses with prior approval of the department chairperson.
