PADM 6570 - Management of Managed Care Organizations

This course provides an overview of issues related to management and planning of managed care organizations. This course covers the recent evolution of health care reform, different types of managed care organizations, integrated health care delivery systems, open versus closed panel plans, negotiating with providers including physicians and hospitals, Medicaid and Medicare managed care, and legal issues in provider contracting, how to develop PMPM premium rate, revenue maximization and cost control, and quality and performance measurement.
