SOC 6040 - Contemporary Theory: Agency, Interaction, and Structure An intensive study of contemporary sociological and social psychological theories that address and critique the classical dualism between individual and social structure. The course will focus on theories of human interaction, and will attempt to show connections between micro and macro theories and/or level of analysis. Both foundational theories of interaction and integrative theories of agency and structure will be examined.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: SOC 6020.
Credits: 3 hours
