MATH 1090 - Pre-Algebra Designed to sharpen computational skills and strengthen analytical thinking. Students are encouraged to find patterns, make conjectures, and judge the validity of conjectures. Topics include integers, rational numbers, proportional reasoning, and geometry. Variables and problem solving are emphasized throughout the course.
Credits: 2 hours
Notes: This course is required of students who place into Math 1090; students who place into Math 1110 (Algebra II) or higher must request departmental approval to enroll. Contact the department office for information on placement. Credit for course will not apply to the number of credit hours needed for graduation from WMU. A graphing calculator is required. Tutoring is available for all Math 1090 students.
