PHYS 3520 - Waves and Optics


This course covers the basic properties of mechanical and electromagnetic waves including extensive laboratory experience. Topics include: waves and the wave equation, wave energy, sinusoidal waves, reflection and transmission, waves in two and three dimensions, refraction, geometical optics, interference, diffraction, polarization and spectroscopy.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: PHYS 2070 with a grade of “C” or better.
