HNRS 2301 - Jazz, Blues, and the Harlem Renaissance

This course will place special emphasis on American jazz and blues forms as an expression and influence on American culture in the work of artists such as Bessie Smith and Billie Holiday as well as Langston Hughes, Sterling Brown, Sora Neale Hurston, Jean Toomer and a host of others.
