ACTY 3130 - Accounting Information Systems This is an introductory survey course in accounting information systems. It includes consideration of issues such as transaction processing and transaction processing cycles, the use and effects of computers and other relevant technology on accounting, database and file systems, internal accounting and administrative controls, and information technology audits. The course emphasizes use of common business software, which may include spreadsheets, flowcharting software, communications, general ledger, and database management systems.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: ACTY 3100 with a grade of “C” or better.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: This course is restricted to the following: minors in Accountancy; or majors in Accountancy or General Business.
