ENVS 4110 - Climate Change and Society This course explores the social, political, and cultural factors that collectively shape how society understands and responds to climate change. We will trace climate science from its beginnings to present day, investigate how cultural aspects influence our understanding of climate change, identify the ideological positions of supporters and skeptics, analyze current policies and politics, and explore individual and collective actions to meaningfully address the challenges climate change poses to society.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: (ENVS 2150, GEOS 2320 or GEOG 1050) and junior standing, or instructor approval.
Credits: 3 hours
