ED 4070 - Teaching Elementary Social Studies This course is designed to help students understand the role of social studies in the elementary school; gain insight into important considerations in the selection of content, skills, and attitudes; and discover how to guide and assess the learning of children in this field. Planning social studies experiences and ways of working with individuals, groups, and the total class will be emphasized. Multicultural and non-sexist content and strategies will be emphasized. Program requires a grade of “CB” or better. May repeat course one time only.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: ED 3090 or ED 3100 with a grade of “CB” in any prerequisite; and twelve (12) hours of social science courses.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to majors/minors in Education.
