ME 5360 - Experimental Methods in Fluid Mechanics This course covers basic characteristics of turbulence, governing equations, and random data, probability and statistics related to turbulence, and experimental methods in fluid flow. Basics of Hot-Wire Anemometry, Laser Doppler Velocimetry, and Particle Image Velocimetry will be covered in detail. Experiments will be conducted to show the basics of these techniques.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: ME 3350 and (ME 3560 or AE 3610), with a grade of “B” or better in all prerequisites; or instructor approval.
Credits: 3 hours
Notes: Open to upperclass and graduate students.
