ANTH 5060 - The Archaeology of Gender Gender constructs, a critical organizing principle for human interaction, are becoming an important focus for archaeological investigation. This course will explore the multiple ways archaeologists have attempted to use gender relations as a means to gain insights into individual societies. We will follow gender as an archaeological concept historically and conceptually. Participants will explore the attempts and successes of a gendered understanding of the archaeological record.
