CS 6550 - Advanced Operating Systems Advanced and current topics in operating systems research. Analysis of competing techniques will be undertaken to present a better understanding of tradeoffs in design decisions. Modeling and performance evaluation will also be presented. A detailed and theoretical view of the basic operating system concepts will be emphasized. Programming assignments involving simulation and performance evaluation will be required.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: (CS 44310 or CS 5310) and CS 5541, a grade of “B” or better is required to satisfy any course prerequisite.
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions This course is restricted to the following: masters and doctorates in computer science, masters in electrical engineering, and doctorates in mathematics. Notes: Open to graduate students only.
