PT 6220 - Clinical Interventions I The first course in a two-course sequence which addresses interventions commonly used in contemporary physical therapy practice specific to therapeutic exercise. Students develop beginning skills in physical therapy interventions for a variety of impairments and functional limitations across diagnoses as well as the lifespan. Principles of exercise prescription and progression are presented for a variety of impairments and functional limitations. Beginning manual therapy skills are also introduced. The role of the physical therapist in interprofessional communication and patient/family education is emphasized.
Credits: 3 hours
