DANC 4850 - Race, Gender, and Dance The study of race and gender as seen through the lens of dance. Students will critically examine artists, events, and theories that challenge the politics of race and gender through developments in technique, modes of expression, and technology. Studies will focus on events from 1900 to present. Students will synthesize material from videos, readings, lecture, and discussion. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 3: Connections – Local and National Perspectives Category.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: Sophomore standing.
Credits: 3 hours
