ME 5450 - Computational Fluid Dynamics I Basics of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) including classification of partial differential equations, finite difference formulations, parabolic partial differential equation, stability analysis, elliptic equations, hyperbolic equations, scalar representation of the Navier-Stokes equations and grid generation. Familiarity with a scientific computer programming language is required.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisites: AE 3710 or ME 3560, with a grade of “B” or better; or instructor approval.
Credits: 3 hours
