PT 6020 - Patient Care Management and Mobility This course introduces students to the concepts and processes of the patient interview, including history taking and review of systems. Students begin to use medical terminology to document findings, using a SOAP note format. Concepts of the electronic medical record are also introduced. This course also covers the essential patient care skills of bed mobility, transfers, and wheelchair/assistive device management. Class activities include lecture, lab, interaction with community volunteer patients, and problem solving with case studies. Learning outcomes are assessed through written assignments, written examinations, and practical examinations.
