BLS 6840 - Assistive Technology Assessment for Individuals with Blindness or Visual Impairment This course is designed to develop professional knowledge in assistive technology for individuals with blindness or low vision. This class will build on student’s prior knowledge of assistive technologies, focusing on assessment of the client, task and environment. Students will practice writing professional recommendations based on assessment data.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: BLS 5840 with a grade of “B” or better.
Credits: 2 hours
Restrictions Restricted to master’s in Orientation and Mobility, Orientation and Mobility for Children, Counselor Education: Rehabilitation Teaching, Vision Rehabilitation Therapy, Teaching Children with Visually Impairment, and Teacher of Children with visual Impairment and Orientation and Mobility for Children. Notes: Open to graduate students only.
