HIST 2125 - Sport in American Culture This course examines the political, social, and economic history of sport and evaluates its changing impact on American culture from the 15th century to the present. Placing special emphasis on the intersection of sport with gender, race, ethnicity, and class, the course underscores the ways that diverse groups have shaped the development of sport in the United States. The course also considers the material aspects of sport including clothing, equipment, and facilities. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 2: Exploration and Discovery – Societies and Cultures Category.
