TEL 5300 - Assessing English Learners This undergraduate course is required for candidates in the TESOL major and for pre-service teachers who want to receive the ESL endorsement. TEL 5300 covers the basic, current, and innovative approaches to classroom-based and standardized assessments of ELLs. In this course, students will gain understanding to critically examine ESL assessment tools, design formative and summative ESL assessments, as well as make accommodations for existing assessments to address the needs of ELLs.
Note: Open to upper-level undergraduate and graduate students.
Prerequisites/Corequisites: Prerequisite: TEL 5250 with a grade of “C” or better
Credits: 3 hours
