FCS 3140 - Infant and Toddler Development A holistic study of the cognitive, physical, linguistic, and psychosocial development of children, prenatal through age three. Examines theories related to early growth and development, the practice and promotion of responsive caregiving, the role and creation of supportive learning environments, language acquisition and early literacy, the foundational importance of play and exploration, and effective pedagogies for working with infants, toddlers, and their families. Structured field work within a range of care/educational settings is required.
