FCS 4150 - Parenting Roles, Relations, and Partnerships

Study of parental development and relations across the lifespan, with emphasis on the bi-directional effects of adult-child interactions; parenting influences and patterns; and the interaction of the family and external systems and other social contexts (e.g., school). Special attention to the social, developmental, and cultural nature of caregiving; contemporary issues facing caregivers and children; and practices for the promotion of effective parenting and parental partnerships.
