FCS 4620 - Community Nutrition This course introduces students to major concepts in community and public health nutrition, including national nutrition surveillance, healthcare systems, and community nutrition programs. We will look at interaction between a community’s socio-economic characteristics (including the role of diversity, equity and inclusion), its environmental concerns, and nutrition outcomes. Students will apply what they learn via completion of a community nutrition assessment and presentation of potential interventions in a local setting.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: FCS 2600 and FCS 3600
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to majors in Nutrition and Dietetics.
