FCS 4670 - Professional Issues in Dietetics This course will acquaint senior dietetic students with concepts and skills important to professional life. It will allow students to develop a perspective in dealing with issues such as professional ethics, scope and standards of professional practice, current controversies in nutrition, and how to function as a member of the health care team. The course will also explore public policy and health care reimbursement issues as they influence dietetics practice and the role of registered dietitian in the U.S. health care system.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: Senior standing in dietetics; Phil 3340, FCS 3600, and FCS 3650 with a grade of “C” or better in all prerequisites.
Credits: 2 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to majors in Nutrition and Dietetics.
