GEOS 5060 - Introduction to Soils


Properties of natural and engineered soils. Interactions between soils and plants, microorganisms, water, atmosphere, and contaminants. Soil uses, remediation, and conservation.

Note: Open to upper-level undergraduate and graduate students.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites:  GEOS 1300 and (MATH 1220 or MATH 1700) and (MATH 1230 or MATH 1710 - may be taken concurrently) and CHEM 1100/1110. A grade of “C” or better is required for all prerequisites.

Credits: 3 hours
