SIGN 1020 - American Sign Language II


In this course students will develop and demonstrate advanced knowledge and fluency in fingerspelling, vocabulary, grammar, phonological structure of American Sign Language, in addition to advanced knowledge of the history of American Sign Language, and features of the American Deaf community, including Deaf culture values and behaviors. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 2: Exploration and Discovery – World Language and Culture Category. This course also meets the Diversity and Inclusion student learning outcome.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite:  SIGN 1010 with a grade of “C” or better.

Credits: 3 hours
