SPAN 2010 - Intermediate Spanish II

As the continuation of Spanish 2000, Spanish 2010 presupposes an intermediate knowledge of vocabulary and grammatical structures in Spanish. The course further develops all four language skills (i.e., listening, speaking, reading, and writing) as well as nuanced knowledge about Spanish-speaking cultures. The students will engage in both familiar and more formal communicative tasks in a variety of social situations. They will perform tasks such as expressing preferences, describing past and future events discussing hypothetical situations, and giving suggestions. The students will learn major features of the Spanish-speaking cultures, analyzing connections between products, practices and perspectives. They will distinguish and describe intercultural differences and continuities as they relate to enduring and vital social questions. This course satisfies WMU Essential Studies Level 2: Exploration and Discovery – World Language and Culture Category.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: SPAN 2000 or equivalent.
