SPAN 3210 - Life and Culture of Hispanics in U.S.


A study of the life and culture of people of Hispanic origin who live in the United States. This course will examine the establishment and development in the U.S. of the culture of large groups of Hispanics, such as those of Cuban, Mexican, and Puerto Rican origin, as well as numerous others. Attention will be given to current manifestations of Hispanic culture in the arts, the media, education, and public life.  This course fulfills the requirement for WES Level III Connections: Local and National Perspectives. It also meets the Student Learning Outcomes of developing sensitivity to diversity and inclusion as well as demonstrating effective and appropriate written communications. This course also meets the Diversity and Inclusion student learning outcome.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: SPAN 3160 and SPAN 3170
