LS 4210 - Literacy Assessment and Instructional Practice


This practicum course focuses on developing teacher candidates’ knowledge, skills, and dispositions around the use of assessment tools for literacy instruction PK-6. Teacher candidates will examine and implement both formative and summative assessments to inform instruction while considering children’s overall literacy development and literacy standards. By doing so, teacher candidates will experience literacy instruction as an iterative cycle of assessment, teaching, and reflection.

Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisite: LS 4150 with a grade of “CB” or better and Junior or Senior standing.

Corequisite: LS 4200

Credits: 1 hour
