AVS 1920 - Aircraft Basic Science Discusses various aviation applications such as the theory of flight, and engine and aircraft performance calculations emphasizing the implementation of basic rules and laws of Mathematics and Physics. Introduces aircraft weight and balance terminology, procedures, and computations. Presents commonly used drawings, charts, and schematics, their interpretation, and application in aircraft maintenance. Students will demonstrate understanding to determine an aircraft CG and inspect aircraft system/component(s) using drawings, blueprints, or system schematics.
This course aligns with the Mechanic ACS according to 14 CFR Part 147.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Corequisites: AVS 1925
Credits: 2 hours
Restrictions: Aviation Technical Operations majors
