AVS 2910 - Airframe 1 Metallic Structures Lecture

Introduces various aircraft structures and their characteristics. Discusses inspection of metal structures, focusing on sheet metal defects and the process of sheet metal repairs. Presents the types and procedures for weld repairs, including welding components, purpose, and techniques. Emphasizes safety practices, precautions for sheet metal repairs and fabrications, and proper storage and handling of welding gases. Students will be able to describe the steps in the process of sheet metal repairs, including layout, forming, drilling of sheet metal components, and installation and removal of rivets and fasteners.

This course aligns with the Mechanic ACS according to 14 CFR Part 147.
