PAPR 2550 - Paper Physics Fundamentals An advanced study of wood fibers and their properties. Fundamentals of fiber and sheet strength properties are critically discussed, including the effect of paper-making operations. Both fracture and optical properties of paper are considered. Basics of paper testing and reclaimed fibers are also studied.
Prerequisites & Corequisites: Prerequisites: PAPR 2040, and (IEE 2610 or STAT 3640), with a grade of “C” or better in all prerequisites. (IEE 2610 or STAT 3640 may be taken concurrently.)
Credits: 3 hours
Restrictions: Restricted to majors in Chemical Engineering, Pre-Chemical Engineering, and Pre-Paper Engineering.
