PHIL 3170 - Environmental Ethics This course will be an examination of ethical issues related to the environment. The main focus will be on current issues such as global warming, population growth, sustainability, and non-human welfare. We will consider environmental impacts of social and political activities from a moral perspective, placing emphasis on the relationship between human needs and environmental responsibility. Selected moral theories and moral principles will be developed in application to problems and issues like those mentioned above. This course meets the student learning outcomes in the WMU Essential Studies Level 2‐ Exploration and Discovery, Science and Technology Course Category.
Credits: 3 hours
